This blog isn’t dead yet

So I haven’t updated recently. I’m still alive and so is this blog. I just haven’t had anything
to blog about.

First off Penn State student football tickets sold out in under an hour. Yes that’s over 21,000 tickets in about an hour. So my secret master plan idea didn’t really work. And to make it even worse, when I went to wigle for help, apparently I am violating their EULA. In case you don’t know what I was planning to do, I’ll tell you. I was going to make a php that fetched the wigle data and gave you a google earth kml. Apparently, if I write this in javascript or make it client side it DOESN’T violate the EULA but if I make the EXACT SAME thing in php it violates it. Here is the EULA:

So I do not see any violations as long as I make the people login and do not gain anything out of it. So if you can give me any help on coding the connecting the the database part (the rest is pretty much done) and/or legal advise (only if you are a lawyer) please do so. It will be appreciated.

Comcast sucks

In the past week they’ve cut the cable lines 3 times. Last night cable and internet was out from 6ish pm to 5ish am. With a down time of about 36 hours this week.  More to come on the project.

Update #1

So dd-wrt doesn’t support jffs or smbfs on the fonera yet. So I have 2 choices, either switch to open-wrt or wait. So with that said, I’m starting my more helpful, less evil part of my plan

Fonera moding and what not part 1 of many

So I’ve had a fonera for a while, but since I was at school, I couldn’t really do anything but software mod it. My choice of firmware is DD-WRT, I run it on my fonera and my WRT54G. So a few months ago (as in February or March) when I got my first fonera, I opened it up. To my amazement, I noticed a second antenna solder point. Naturally, I wanted to add a second antenna over break, but I bricked it trying to reflash it. So over spring break I recieved my new fonera on the last day of break and reflashed it. So with no time to mod it, I just let it run at school. Some time later I noticed that it ran VERY hot, and after some googleing I found out that at the temperature that it runs at the components should die after about a year. To make a long story short, I turned it off and when i got home I added a fan.Since I had a dead WRT54G board in my boxOcrap, I decided to desolder the rp-tnc pigtail from the dead board and add it to my fonera. So now my fonera has an old 60mm psu fan and a second antenna hook up which is rp-tnc. Fixin’ America and makin’ an Ruckus

I was gonna bitch about the Philadelphia Eagles draft picks but I chose not to. So that said I’m pumped to watch the GOP debate on the 3rd. Sweet a balanced budget and hopefully no more welfare, medicare, social security, less powerful government, and more rights.

So Penn State is dropping Napster (thank God). Instead they are replacing it with a shady service named Ruckus. Here’s one of its antics “In September 2006, Ruckus attempted to create the single largest group on Facebook as a promotional tool. An employee started a fictional student account under the name “Brody Ruckus.” The group created under this name, “If this group reaches 100,000 my girlfriend will have a threesome”, drew membership on the claim that if 100,000 people joined, the fictional character’s girlfriend “Holly” would have a threesome with “Ruckus” and another woman. Within a week, the group had reached 100,000 members. “Brody Ruckus” then promised to post pictures of his sexual encounter online if 300,000 people joined. Within 7 days, the group membership had exceeded 400,000 and “Ruckus” wrote that if the group became the largest on Facebook, he would post a video of his threesome. Facebook administrators deleted the “Brody Ruckus” profile and his group, since it represented a breach in the site’s Terms of Service agreement, specifically with reference to: “impersonating any person or entity, or falsely stating or otherwise misrepresenting yourself, your age or your affiliation with any person or entity.”" Also Ruckus is TOTALLY FREE but we aren’t getting ANY MONEY BACK, instead it’s going to PSUTX. This is  a service that you sign up for and Penn State texts your phone when something important happens like class closing (which never happens). Ok lets assume a few things, that we have napster on the go service and get charged the 15$ a month thats advertised. That’s 7.2 million a year for Penn State (even tho its probably closer to 300$ a year which is 12million) That PSUTXT gets all 40K students signed up and sends 1 message a day and that it costs 25 cents a message (there are free sms programs too). That is 3.65million a year. So at minimum, Penn State is making at least ~3.4million a year. This is bullshit

Sweet I’m Web 2.0 and other annoying shit (read as upgrades)

    Since my team (an electrical engineering major, a security and risk analysis information and cybersecurity major, and I don’t know the last guys major) in my IST 210 class (a database class were we have to make a web site with dynamic content and shit) doesn’t have any web designers I took someone else’s CSS to make our site web 2.0. Upon more searching more I found http://www.web20generator.com/index.aspx . Sweet now I can keep up with falipr which is http://www.facebook.com/ and http://alipr.com/ put together with just a bunch of web 2.0 eye candy bullshit like the dropping of vowels and the mirrored logo and the no real content. Well take that bitch “ESP_GAME” has become web 2.0 TAKE THAT!

If you don’t run firefox yet get it here. I just switched to 2.0 from 1.5 because I got sick of downgradeing it when I updated Slackware. Whats Slackware you might ask? IT’S THE KING OF LINUXES. It is the most unix like, the oldest still maintained Linux distribution, is stable, secure and simple. Pretty much “it just works(tm)”. Download it here http://mirrors.evolva.ro/slackware/slackware-current-iso/ (that’s just some some random ass-mirror (that was an XKCD reference) that I found on google). Any way back to firefox. When I opened firefox it upgraded NoScript to version 1.1.4.8.070432 (do you think they could make it any longer and more meaningless?) which has something that stops XSS attacks (read my link because I don’t feel like explaining it) and is annoying as fuck. I go to a wikipedia entry with a special char in it and it sets off all sorts of alarms n shit and thinks I’m being attacked. Anyway, I’ve accepted that I have to use gaim2.0 and learned to deal with its suckage.

Everything I linked to you should use except maybe XSS attacks and and the web 2.0 links. So in other words you should be using firefox with NoScript and Slackware, or at least firefox with NoScript.

Oddree issue #2 and takeing my rights away

    So as you know by now or at least I hope so, Oddree the psudo-hacking/hacker humor magazine is now out. Get it at http://www.oddree.com/downloads.htm I have an article in it and you should read it if not only because I’m in it. Also as a side note, the fon hacking is wrong. Use dd-wrt and you have to use this crazy german method. Ahhh I love free speech. Especially for those people that only approve of free speech if they agree with what they are saying. Kind of like these dumb asses. I will say that these protesters have no taste at all and should go to hell but if push came to shove, I would fight for their right to protests even thou I don’t agree with what they are saying.

National REALid is total bullshit and only 3 people in my class notice it including me. YES PLEASE PUT ALL MY INFORMATION ABOUT ME IN 1 PLACE. This will be the new social security number, it will probably be require for dumb shit like buy milk n shit. Someone said that he has nothing to hide so why should he care. I asked him for his SS# but he wouldn’t give it to me, but he has nothing to hide. Obviously he’s a terrorist. Someone else said that its that only the government can see it. Oh and the government has never abused its powers ex Patriot act. It’s “encrypted” but I won’t even there. Lastly, this won’t stop terrorist, illegals or anything. Just pay them in cash.

Don’t take away my guns damn it. I love how all these dumb ass liberals thing that if we made guns illegal VT wouldn’t happen. I hate to break it to you but cocaine is illegal and people still get that. This would only give the bad guys guns. Now on the other hand if we give people MORE guns (and by people I mean non felons and mental stable) this might not have happened. Thing about it. If 10% of the people SHOT had a gun that means that there are 6 people shooting back. Oh but the police will have guns you say? Looks like that did a big help in stopping this douche from killing 32 people. So when the police decide that they don’t like you anymore and open fire on your gunless ass don’t come crying to me.

You know that if the government watched everything you do and takes away all your right THERE WILL BE NO TERRORISM, because the terrorist won. I think people would be happy if they were forced to be hand cuffed and beat by the cops if they said that it would stop terrorism.

On a side note, what the fuck were you doing for 1 hour and 45 minutes between the first and second shootings going to class?

I give this guy props for one thing, being accurate with 2 pistols at once. That takes a bit of skill. Burn in hell please. When I heard this the first thing I thought was “Oh Christ, another white trash kid that got beat by his drunk dad shot a place up” WRONG this kid was Asian.
