Slackware 12 is out
So I just dated Slackware-current. I looked at the changelog and Slackware 12 is out!. If you want to download the .iso’s heres is the link: http://slackware.osuosl.org/slackware-12.0-iso/ You don’t need 4-6 unless you want extras, pastures (outdated stuff), sources, and what not (you don’t need 3 if you don’t want KDE or tetex). So lets get on with features.
Since I just updated today I’ll do a full review in the near future. But here are the main selling points:
- Linux kernel 2.6.21.5 (also supports smp)
- KDE 3.5.7 and xfce 4.4.1
- X.org 7.2.0
- Comes with HAL (even tho I don’t care for it)
- GCC 4.1.2
- Firefox and Thunderbird 2.0.0.4
- Pidgin 2.0.2 (formally GAIM)
After over 14 years, Slackware is still rocking.
Look for a full review in the next few days

The link in your post doesn’t work – you have it as http://http…. and the isos aren’t available there – only the checksums.
check your link bub, it says http://http//slackware.osuosl.org/slackware-12.0-iso/ when it should be http://slackware.osuosl.org/slackware-12.0-iso/
remove the extra “http//” from the url
[...] the disk(s). If you like proper .iso files and don’t want the hassle of torrenting, look here – I know I did! Revel in the fact that you run the same OS as Team [...]
